This position is accountable for the solution of complex problems and providing timely and accurate support to help resolve various issues and support existing and new product development issues and analysis in respect of WB wood coating. This position functions with limited supervision and is able to independently design experiments with limited, to no, review.

? Timely and accurate execution of WB product testing on production material.
? Timely and accurate execution of WB product formulations and testing.
? Maintenance of safe operating procedures through complete knowledge of safety rules and lab procedures.
? Resolution of problems relating to WB products and processed accomplished in a timely manner.
? Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with those in line of work.

? Resolves complex problems, contributes to the development of new WB products/processes and maintenance/improvement of existing WB products/processes.
? Selects approach, designs, executes, analyzes experiments and applies results in solution of complex problems.
? Develops technical expertise of WB wood coating.
? Recognizes importance of internal and external customers.
? Displays growing ability to apply technical expertise, problem solving and decision making skills.
? Increasingly manages own work through planning execution, analysis, documentation, and application of results.
? Develops greater understanding of processes by which results are produced. Generates sound data and conclusions, suggests improvements in testing, processes, product line maintenance.
? May train and develop technicians.
? Knows and follows safe operating procedures.
? Operates under sustained to moderate supervision. Direct informational contacts with other functions (mfg., mktg., suppliers, customers.)
? May supervise work and contribute to appraisal on up to two technicians.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/CAPABILITIES/WORK ENVIRONMENT: (Please use bulleted list. Consider things like stations, temperature - indoors, outdoors; noise level, vibration, exposures, work surfaces, mobility, lifting, etc.)
? Employee is required to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion. May assist with handling drums of material excess of 100 lbs.
? Employee will spend approximately 20% of the day sitting, 30% standing, 40% walking and 10% stooping, climbing and kneeling.
? Employee is required to tint paint, therefore, must have good color perception.
? Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required.
? Employee must be able to drive a car or van.
? Employee must be able to operate a hand truck and/or material handling equipment.
? Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.

This position reports to a group leader/manager.
May supervise work of up to two technicians.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: (List any other requirements including education level, years of experience, etc. These are objective in nature)
? Bachelor’s Degree/Masters Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.
? Ability to work all scheduled hours as needed.
? Employee must have a valid driver’s license.
? If usage of employee’s own vehicle is required, employee must obtain appropriate insurance as defined by Corporate Policy.
