Main  Purpose

This  role  will  be  responsible  for  supporting  development  of  the  Heavy  Duty  Truck  business  by  providing  application  set  up  and  consulting  to  customers  and  feedback  to  internal  sales,  technical,  training  and  product  organizations.  The  Application  Specialist  will  develop  and  eｘecute  launch  plans,  evaluate  test  samples,  benchmark  competitive  products,  evaluate  new  application  processes  and  train  customer  application  and  distributor  sales  force  on  product  use  as  part  of  launch  plans.  The  HDT  Application  Specialist  will  be  a  key  part  of  the  regional  and  country  teams  that  identify,  develop  and  sell  unique  value  propositions  to  AP  sites  of  Global  Key  Accounts  like  Volvo,  Paccar,  Diamler  and  MAN.


Major  Accountability

Work  with  the  DPC  AP  Industrial  Team,  Regional  Product  Resources  and  Training  to:
Evaluate  product  and  application  requirements  for  new  segments  and  customers
Conduct  Benchmarking  for  competitive  products  in  targeted  market  segments
Qualify  test  samples  from  production  alignments
Evaluate  candidate  products  developed  by  the  technical  organization  using  disciplined  attribute  lists  derived  from  benchmarking  process

Lead  Training  for  new  products  and  application  process  in  RTC’s  and  Customer  Facilities.
Deliver  Training  so  that  Axalta’s  value  proposition  and  pricing  strategy  are  supported
Develop  capability  to  certify  Axalta  and  Customer  Technicians  as  proficient  in  the  application  process,  whether  it  is  robotic  or  handspray.
Capable  of  understanding  color  matching  process  and  help  train  organization  on  the  color  diagnosis  and  improvement  process.

Troubleshoot  product  in  use  at  customer’s  robotic  application  lines  and  train  line  service  resources  in  the  troubleshooting  process.
Network  with  the  Global  Industrial  Product  and  Technology  organizations  to  leverage  application  process  and  key  product  learnings  from  other  regions  to  AP  where  it  is  appropriate.


Qualifications

1.  Coatings  Technical  background
2.  4-5  years  of  Coatings  Technical  Experience,  including  robotic  and  manual  application  techniques
3.  Experience  in  the  automotive  industry  is  desirable,  robotic  application  experience  is  required.
4.  Experience  with  DURR,  ABB,  Fanuc  and  other  standard  robotic  applications  systems  desired.
5.  Ability  to  spray  and  evaluate  coatings  using  a  disciplined  process.
6.  Ability  to  learn  new  application  processes  and  adopt  them  for  use  in  varied  transportation  coatings  markets
7.  Chinese  and  English  language  skills
